BTS Group launches a special year-end campaign “Hop On BTS” to thank customers for participating in fighting against global warming.
BackDecember 8th, 2022: At Mo Chit BTS Station, Mr. Rangsin Kritalug, Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Daniel Ross, Chief Investment Officer and Head of Sustainability, Ms. Narissara Srisunt, Strategic Communication Advisor and Mr. Jutaphat Pitiphapada, Associate Director of Corporate Communication, BTS Group Holdings Public Company Limited jointly launched a special year-end campaign "Hop On BTS" to thank passengers for their participation in fighting against global warming by riding the BTS Skytrain. The campaign aims to create awareness and invite everyone to use the BTS SkyTrain service, which is an eco-friendly and good-for-the-earth mode of transportation that transforms electric trains into communication spaces for raising awareness throughout this December.
BTS Group’s operations have always shown commitment to sustainable development since the opening of the BTS SkyTrain service in 1999, operating for a total of 23 years. In that time, all BTS passengers has helped to reduce 1.9 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions, which is the main cause of global warming. This is equivalent to carbon absorption by 200 million trees in 1 year.
In addition, BTS Group has developed a climate change strategy by committing to continuously improve energy efficiency. BTS Group aims to continue to remain carbon neutral, with the proportion of electricity consumption from renewable energy sources set at a minimum of 10% of the entire operation.
