To coincide with world Car Free Day , which is held every 22nd September in order to raise awareness of energy conservation and to encourage people to travel by public transport , Bangkok Mass Transit System Public Company Limited, part of the BTS Group recently participated in the Bangkok Car Free Day 2012 activity , by providing free travel on the BTS SkyTrain.

On Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd September, cyclists participating in the event were allowed to take their bikes with them onto trains, during the period 06.00-21.00 hrs. ( only in the first and last cars )
