with Confidence It Will Be Ready for Free Public Trial Across 30 Stations from Khae Rai to Min Buri, Starting November 21, 2023, at 3:00 PM

November 21^st 2023, Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin visited the control center and participated in the trial run of the Pink Line MRT, from Khae Rai to Min Buri. Accompanying him were Minister of Transport Suriya Jungrungreangkit, Deputy Minister of Transport Surapong Piyachote, Deputy Minister of Transport Manaporn Charoensri, Transport Permanent Secretary Chayatan Phromsorn, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Transport, Sorapong Paitoonpong (Head of Transport Mission Group), Director-General of the Department of Rail Transport Dr.Pichet Kunadhamraks,Governor of the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) Pakapong Sirikantaramas, and Chairman of Northern Bangkok Monorail Co., Ltd., Keeree Kanjanapas. The trial run from Min Buri Station (PK30) to Wat Phra Sri Mahathat Station (PK16) went smoothly. Starting on the same day at 3:00 PM, the Pink Line MRT will be available for the public to try for free across all 30 stations. From November 22, 2023, the trial service will operate daily from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM until the Pink Line MRT is ready to extend its trial service hours further.

Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin commended the Ministry of Transport, the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA), and Northern Bangkok Monorail Co., Ltd. (NBM), the concessionaire, for their collaborative efforts in developing the Pink Line MRT from Khae Rai to Min Buri to enhance the mass transit network in Bangkok and its vicinity. The project is now nearly 100% complete and ready for public trial. The Prime Minister highlighted that this is an excellent opportunity for residents along the route, including those traveling through Tiwanon Road, Chaeng Watthana Road, and Ram Inthra Road to Min Buri, to experience the Pink Line MRT firsthand. He encouraged the public to adapt their travel habits, reduce the use of personal vehicles, and switch to the convenient, fast, safe, and environmentally friendly mass transit system. This initiative aligns with the government’s "Quick Win" policy in the area of “Transportation for the Prosperity of the People,” aiming to improve public well-being across economic, safety, service standards, and environmental conservation dimensions.

The MRT Pink Line is Thailand's second monorail line, following the MRT Yellow Line, which began full commercial operation in early July 2023. It serves as a feeder line with five stations connecting to major lines: Nonthaburi
Civic Center (MRT Purple Line), Laksi (SRT Dark Red Line), Wat Phra Sri Mahathat (Green Line), Watcharaphon (future Grey Line), and Min Buri (MRT Orange Line). This enables efficient passenger transport from Nonthaburi and northern Bangkok to central city lines. The system will initially operate with 42 trains, each consisting of four cars, capable of transporting about 17,000 passengers per hour per direction. As ridership grows, the train size can increase to seven cars, accommodating up to 28,000 passengers per hour per direction with a two-minute frequency. The government has instructed MRTA to closely monitor the trial service, evaluate operational readiness, and ensure passenger safety before granting full commercial operation, expected by December 2023.

The MRT Pink Line project, stretching approximately 34.5 kilometers from Khae Rai to Min Buri, features elevated tracks throughout its 30 stations. These stations include Nonthaburi Ciivc Center, Khae Rai, Sanambin Nam, Samakkhi, Royal Irrigation Department, Yaek Pak Kret, Pak Kret Bypass, Chaeng Watthana - Pak Kret 28, Si Rat, Muang Thong Thani, Chaeng Watthana 14, Government Complex, National Telecom, Lak Si, Rajabhat Phranakhon, Wat Phra Sri Mahathat, Ram Inthra 3, Lat Pla Khao, Ram Inthra Kor Mor 4, Maiyalap, Vacharaphol, Ram Inthra Kor Mor 6, Khu Bon, Ram Inthra Kor Mor 9, Outer Ring Road - Ram Inthra, Nopparat, Bang Chan, Setthabutbamphen, Min Buri Market, and Min Buri. Min Buri station is close to the maintenance center and features a Park & Ride facility for convenient car parking and rail access. In the near future, the Pink Line will extend from Si Rat to Muang Thong Thani, allowing passengers to travel conveniently from Muang Thong Thani station through the Muang Thong Thani Ring Road to the lake area.
